A lady goes to the bar on a cruise ship and orders a Scotch with two drops of water. As the bartender gives her the drink she says, 'I'm on this cruise to celebrate my 80th birthday and it's today...' The bartender says, 'Well, since it's your birthday, I'll buy you a drink. In fact, this one is on me.' As the woman finishes her drink, the woman to her right says, 'I would like to buy you a drink, too.' The old woman says, 'Thank you. Bartender, I want a Scotch with two dro...ps of water.' 'Coming up,' says the bartender As she finishes that drink, the man to her left says, 'I would like to buy you one, too.' The old woman says, 'Thank you. Bartender, I want another Scotch with two drops of water.' 'Coming right up,' the bartender says. As he gives her the drink, he says, 'Ma'am, I'm dying of curiosity. Why the Scotch with only two drops of water?' The old woman replies, 'Sonny, when you're my age, you've learned how to hold your liquor. Holding your water, however, is a whole other issue.'
whoa!!!! Wow! no market for Joe? I can't believe it. Not saying he's a starter, but gone........? Sad day in Browntown
It's about to get sadder...Steelers have emerged as favorites to sign Haden http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...-browns-released-veteran-cornerback-joe-haden
Ste The Steelers don't typically like to pay for over-priced FA's. Haden is more than likely looking at a 1-year show-me type deal with whoever signs him unless they're desperate. Not sure I believe the article as I recall that their secondary was rated somewhere among the top 10-12 last year. Not sure what kind of turnover the Steeler secondary had in the offseason. Haden may take a pay cut to sign with a team to give him a shot at a ring, but I believe he's more likely to take the money, With his injuries the last few years, he's probably looking for a payout on a "last contract", as I don't see him playing more than 4-5 more years. But again, I truly think he's going to get a 1 year, maybe 2 year deal at best.
In all honesty, he is a family man and has been paid north of $75M from the Browns. He doesn't need the money, he wants a ring.
Busy day in Berea...Amazingly, Cleveland acquired a 5th round pick from Kansas City for Cameron Erving.
Haden signs 3yr/$27M deal with the Steelers... ESPN's Adam Shefter is reporting that Haden had multiple offers that were better, but he rejected them because he wanted to be a Pittsburgh Steeler...
In the end, Joe Haden was happy to sign with Pittsburgh for roughly the same money he refused to accept from Cleveland, when they attempted to restructure....
Hopefully we can find a 2nd WR to take advantage of his side. William Gay will be on Coleman. Not sure Britt has enough in the tank to burn Haden. Maybe Njoku can split out wide and Britt take the inside.
On a brighter note.... The Tribe took the early game of a DH against the Yanks 2-1 and lead 6-1 bottom of the 6th in the nightcap and would sweep 3 from the Yanks if they win. Roll Tribe!!!!
Sweeping the doubleheader from the Yankees in the Bronx...Does it get any better? Woohoo!! Tribe is on the warpath!
They said that's the first sweep of the Yankees in New York since 1989. And I believe the Tribe has won like 16 of their last 20 and went 19-9 in August. Getting hot at the right time. Just need Miller back at 100% and they could be absolutely dominating. Even Merritt is jumping on the wagon in another spot start today.
