Well, the NFL can't force Thompson to do anything, including talk to them. I am sure they requested a meeting with her, which she obviously accepted. The other side can do the same thing, which she may or may not agree to..but this isn't a court room, the NFL (not a judge or court order) cannot force her to come into a second meeting with Elliot and/or his representatives. All that said, Henderson has full accessibility to the transcripts from the original interview of her. He doesn't necessarily need to talk to her himself to get the same answers to the same questions. If he had additional questions, I'm sure he would put in a request to interview her, at which time he may allow Elliot/reps to be present. But it seems like the information that the league used to make their decision was extensive, so it really wouldn't be a surprise if he already had all relevant information to rule.
I still think they leave a huge loop hole for players to be accused and condemned for things they are not found guilty of/false accusations. When being banned, punished, fined or what ever and you stand there with no accuser and cant have the privledge of examining the accuser you should be exonerated. I also think its highly one-sided and unfair for the chips to be pre-stacked against you if not given a chance to defend yourself to the fullest. I just think the set-up as it is is too premature and needs more tweaking in order to be the most fair... in my opinion, its not. If the NFL wants a court like atmosphere, they should treat both parties/sides as such.
I agree Irish but the thing that gets me is why the request for transcripts and notes was denied? There is no reason for that. This is going to court anyways. Anyone in their fantasy draft that got Elliott may be laughing if he plays the whole season or just misses a couple before the courts order the suspension be, well, suspended.
Veteran linebacker Ahmad Brooks is on the way out after nine seasons in San Francisco. Brooks, who has been on the 49ers longer than any other player on their defense, will be cut, according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee. The only thing that could keep Brooks on the roster for now is if the 49ers think they might be able to trade him before releasing him. The 33-year-old Brooks is expendable after losing the starting strong side linebacker job to Eli Harold. (PFT)

Because of privacy laws. She may have not given permission to share this information with everyone. Any time they want to share private information from an individual, they must first give permission, unless of course they give a blanket permission. I can only assume, she gave permission to Henderson, but no others. Otherwise, once a blanket permission is given, they would definitely had shared them with a gag order.
I just have a problem with the fact that, because this involves a man's reputation and not an insignificant amount of money, all the resources that were available in the initial investigation will NOT be available in the appeals hearing.
While Spencer Ware is expected to just have a sprained knee and his ACL is intact. The question now is how severe it is.
Ware's injury is a PCL sprain but will have an MRI to be sure. He could be back by the opener if it is light. However he could also miss as much as 4-6 games if it's severe.

Jaguars announce Blake Bortles will start opener Meet the new boss of the Jaguars offense, same as the old boss of the Jaguars offense. The Jaguars announced on Saturday morning that Blake Bortles will be their starting quarterback on September 10 against the Texans. The announcement comes two days after the Jaguars started Chad Henne in their third preseason game and a little more than a week after coach Doug Marrone announced he was opening the job up for competition.
It has yet to be announced officially but Julian Edelman has a complete ACL tear and will miss the entire season.
Patriots cut Kony Ealy despite injuries at the position. The Panthers may have really known something.
Bryce Petty plays very well before being injured by his own lineman. He should be okay and earn the backup spot behind Josh McCown. Don't be surprised if Hackenberg is cut sometime this year. I'd say he could be cut soon but they likely need 3 QBs on this team.
