    And from my post...

I have my guesses which way the owners are leaning on that one but it's not really fair for me to assume.

{Edit} Other than Jerry Jones who has already spoken out about it.

The same thing I would do if they refused to serve anyone. They'd be shown the door regardless of occupation. I don't see the parallel.

These players aren't refusing veterans. They are protesting against racial inequality IN THEIR COUNTRY and they are doing so by not honoring the flag the represents THEIR COUNTRY.

The people that have made this an issue about veterans are veterans - and not all of them. You have internalized this protest and made it about you. It's not about you. It's about someone else and maybe just maybe the league recognizes it for what is and not what a percentage of veterans think it is.

You keep coming back to the timing of their protest but not the subjrct - as if the subject means nothing to you.

Let me ask you a question...

If I asked you permission to burn a flag in your front yard to save someone's life would you grant me permission?

@Tim any idea why L4SN keeps logging me out of my mobile?

The parallel is that you, as a Manager who is responsible for establishing the policy of how your business is to be conducted, would take action if that policy isn't followed. The NFL has taken no such action . . . Rather they have opted to dance around the issue. They haven't even come out and publicly stated exactly what their policy is.

We updated to a secured server so the http is now https.

It has affected different browsers over different periods of time.

I'm working on getting an updated ap for mobile devices that will clear this up permanently but it's something that your browser will adjust to over time.

Not necessarily true... Colin Kaepernick has been blacklisted by the NFL. That's a hard truth that some people still don't want to admit.

The NFL started receiving payments 10 years ago from the Department of Defense to bring the players out of the locker room and stand on the sidelines in a very flagrant display of false patriotism. The NFL complied because they're getting paid. Until that funding dries up, they probably won't discipline their players.

This is a great post, BTW.

The flag stands for 13 colonies (which all allowed slaves) and 50 states (many of which seceded and went to war with their brothers and sisters over the right to keep their slaves). That's it. It's a piece of cloth representing 13 colonies and 50 states - ascribing any other value to it is done at a very personal and very individual level.

That is an assinine question clearly intended to bait me. But, I'll play along.

You tell me the surrounding cicumstances that would prevent someone from being killed IF you burned a flag in my front yard and I will answer that question.

No it was a very real question. I'll rephrase...

If I came to you and told you that I believed wholeheartedly that I could save lives if I burned a flag in your front yard would you grant me permission?

I'll ask again. How would you save lives by burning a flag in my front yard?

Monday night: 12 players kneel to protest racial- and socio-economic injustices.

Result: a lot of fake or misplaced outrage

    Tuesday night:

    Result: *crickets*

Does it matter how? If I truly believe I can save lives isn't it worth the risk?

  12. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

Yes, it matters how. What are the alternatives that are available due to the surrounding cicumstances?

  13. beachbum Legend Manager Steelers

In my opinion this is the best opportunity to save these lives. That's my only goal. I don't mean to offend anyone or show disrespect. I believe this is the best avenue for me to take. I'm not promising it will work but I believe it will. Will you grant me permission?

Bully for him. He spent a few hours of his free time away from playing a game to play a game.

One more time: My problem isn't with the players (although I think they could probably put their money where their knees are), it's with the NFL!

I just checked with the NFL offices in New York to ask for some advise. They said, "Do nothing".

Cynicism notwithstanding, he helped to raise money for the Girls and Boys Club of Ohio and Guidstone. Beyond the monetary donation, he's taking time out of his schedule (his only day off) to be a positive role model and influence on children.

So you say that, but your above quote directly challenges that notion.

The NFL is a business that got paid to drape itself in the flag. Your problem should be less about it not taking an authoritarian stance on something like kneeling during the anthem and more with the fact that they are receiving a kickback to bring their players out for a photo op during the anthem and a fly-over.

    Marshawn Lynch during the anthem:

Not even a protest or prayer... he's been doing this since Day 1.

Not a word until Colin Kaepernick decides to kneel during an anthem to protest. Now, Lynch is "being disrespectful". No... Lynch is being himself and people are putting their white-hot rage in the wrong place.

  20. I talked bout this the night it happened...it's very unfortunate players want to protest during a time which shows great respect to our country
