    lol! That's just baloney...Yes. I call baloney.

All reports are that Kessler has not been good. Not in practice, and especially not in the scrimmage...He's losing his hold on the starting QB job. All three QB's were blah in the scrimmage, but Kessler was particularly disappointing, according to Tony Grossi, Doug Dieken and Co....

The real question is; Why the hell did they not bring that scrimmage back to Columbus??? They draw big enthusiastic crowds for their little glorified practice at Ohio Stadium...Last year I took my son to the Orange and Brown game at the Horseshoe, and I bet there was 50,000 people or more...That crowd they drew last night in Cleveland was an embarrassment. Seriously. Somebody dropped the ball on that. The deal in Columbus was a good thing...

  3. Crazy Osweiler is leading the charge at QB

    Not so crazy IMHO...

    P.S. Don't go sleeping on Lyman's boy

I think the Browns are keeping Lyman's boy around because the FO would still like to deal Brock Osweiller....

I just hope we aren't wasting valuable reps. I wish I knew what the FO was really thinking...Four QB's is a lot. It seems the job really is wide open though. The coaches just want somebody to step up. So far, Kessler seems to be regressing (if that's possible), and Kizer looks every bit the rookie...If Brock starts Thursday and plays well, this thing is going to get really confusing. I suppose the possibility exists that Osweiller could play his way into a starting role here, though I still sense the Browns would like to see him play well enough to spur serious trade interest...

  7. What team really wants him? Miami just signed Cutler

  8. crextin Franchise Player Browns

That leaves the Colts and the Ravens...

My guess is that the real hangup is the albatrosss of a contract(albeit not much in reality as the Browns can eat most of it without duress to the cap), plus what the Browns FO want in return( Draft picks).

Probably no team. But the real question is: What team NEEDS him? With 4+ weeks left in the pre-season, I can almost guarantee another starting QB will go down with an injury. Maybe ours. If that happens, the whole dynamic changes.

Case in point . . . Does anyone think Miami was busting their hump to sign Cutler BEFORE Tannehill got hurt?

Its all going depend on whose team's QB goes down, for how long and what the anticipated impact is on their playoff hopes.

  10. Agree but it looks like he may start week 1 for the Browns

If he does, its because the coaching staff made that decision based on what they saw on the practise field, in the QB room and in pre-season games. That's why they get paid.

Nusret. He's a Turkish chef and steakhouse owner who, as @Dogside18 has said has a cult following on social media due to his unique approach to food.

I hope Hue throws it 40 times in his series.

If he does . . . Then we'll probably have 6 receivers on IR.

That worked out very well last season too when Bob Griffin looked fantastic without a real pass rush throwing to open targets.

I'm not going to fall into the "take a side" QB battle we always seem to drive in Cleveland. Cody Kessler should look worse in practice than Kizer or Osweiler because he isn't as tall and doesn't have the same arm strength - but he's smarter, more prepared, and has a better understanding of the offense than either of them because he's played eight live-action NFL games for this coach and his playbook while the other two have logged a combined zero.

The talking heads, who continue to drive the QB battle narrative can say whatever they want. I'll listen to the coaches, personally. David Lee (quarterback's coach) has been nothing but impressed with Kessler from what I've read.

I will be shocked if - barring injury - Kessler isn't starting Week 1.

It's a QB Russian Roulette since supply is limited and, from what we've seen thus far, some team is going to part with a second round pick for Osweiler before they sign Colin Kaepernick off the street - so we've got that going for us, too.

We're all ASSUMING that, if the Browns trade a QB, it's Osweiller. The way this front office works, the reality (should the opportunity arise) is any of the four on the roster could be on the trading block. Would Kessler or Kiser demand a higher pick?

    {edit}

Not a higher pick than round 2 . . . But a higher pick than Osweiller would bring.

It could be ANY of the 3, and it wouldn't really shock me. Since Osweiller is is unexpectedly still on the roster, I'm not surprised at all that he is getting the first pre-season start. Cody Kessler may have an edge in experience in the Cleveland offense, but Osweiller is the only QB on our roster that's ever actually won an NFL game. So here we go...

The thing is, Hue Jackson made a point in stating that he thinks an NFL QB needs to be over 6'2". He gives clues to his thinking all the time.... Pretty much everything Hue says makes me think he wants anybody in there other than Kessler...He talks about "arm talent" all the time. That is not the main attribute of Cody K....I think Hue likes Kessler because he's safe, but he sees him as his back-up...A worthy gamer that can won't hurt the team if he has to come in, but not necessarily what Hue is looking for in a starter...
