Drops and who is on the field to throw to can make a big difference in a QBS passing percentage look no further than Rivers who had a 60.4% last year with a mash unit of a receiving corps. In the 5 years before that his completion percentage was 65.8% with a career high of 69.5% in 2013 when he was throwing to Antonio Gates, Keenan Allen, Danny Woodhead and Eddie Royal. A player like Woodhead helps a QBS passing percentage because they are always there on the short safe routes making the catch.

Hey, you don't have to sell me kn Kessler, I've championed him all off season I have actually mentioned that in the past to the discernment of this crowd...
Normally I wouldn't get psyched over someone beating Browns' defenders because, well, they're Browns defenders. However, one of these two defenders was Jabril Peppers (the other was Joe Schobert). But did you notice who it was that dropped that dime in the bucket? Yep! None other than Kevin (don't sleep on me) Hogan!!!
One of PFF.com's "signature stats" (you know, the ones you have to pay for) is those adjusted completion percentages. Kessler's was somewhere in the low 80's. Only Tom "Asterisk" Brady was better. Fun Fact: Carson Wentz was the worst - 32.8%.
I'm hearing good things about rookie running back, Matt Dayes....I thought the Browns got a steal when he slid to late 7th round, and evidently Mr. Dayes is out to prove that right. Dayes has had a chip on his shoulder over his perceived draft slight. He obviously thought he should have been drafted much earlier, and reports out of Berea tend to concur....Perhaps this is why the Browns are tinkering with the idea of putting Duke Johnson in the slot. Idk, but I'm certain Browns fans are going to like the tough little RB from N.C. State. He produces....Great hands and footwork. Shifty and powerful at the point of attack...Dayes will surprise many. He indeed should have been drafted much earlier imho... Keep that chip on your shoulder young man!
Tough break for Tannehill and Dolphins fans. Didn't elect to undergo surgery on the partial ACL tear (against surgeon's advice). Looks like the trade market for Brock Osweiler could be heating up.
By my count... Texans (likely won't happen) Dolphins Ravens (Colin Kaepernick > Joe Flacco) Colts ... all teams who could use Osweiler. A 2019 second round pick and a 2018 first round pick for eating $10M of his deal, or 2018 second round pick for eating $5M. Sounds about right.
Speaking of Oz's contract, he's inked through 2019. Just wondering if anybody know what kind of numbers remain to be paid if....... 1) The Browns cut him after preseason this year (if no trade) 2) The Browns cut him before next year(no trade)/Whoever he gets traded to cuts him after this year.
$16 million anytime before the 2018 League year - that's the cap hit, and Browns would own all of it. So even if they don't pay the full $16M (say they cut him before the trade deadline), they would get the stop paying his contract, but would still absorb the hit on their cap. Anytime after that, the cost is $0. He's due to make $18M in 2018 and $17M in 2019 ($4M in the form of a roster bonus).
The contract was structured by the Texans as basically a 2-year deal. After 2017, he's got zero dead-cap impact to a team, making the sign-and-trade deal the best case scenario for everyone involved. Browns already own the cap hit, so it's a hit for them anyway. But we're so far under, we can absorb the cost easily. If we sign him to a $10M deal, say, that's just cash out the door. He's due $16M for 2017, so the other team would pay him $6M (instead of a full $16) and have no dead cap and only a $6M cap hit on the year. If he works out for said team, he's "free" to cut at any time.
Mary Kay = #FakeNews She claimed a trade for Garfloppolo was "happening". Then, when it didn't, that we'd "definitely" draft Mitchell Trubisky. These guys aren't stupid... Kizer only sees the field in (A) sub packages, (B) head trauma to Cody Kessler.
Friday's Orange and Brown scrimmage: Good News - the second team defense stiffled the 1st team offense all night. Bad News - the second team defense stiffled the 1st team offense all night.
