well CBSSPORTSLINE is saying it is?? I know they're more wrong than right, but why would they post it on their site if not accurate ?

Just because you read the news paper when it was brand new doesn't mean you have to rub it in our faces.

Speaking of newspapers... according to the Miami Herald, the Miami Dolphins have already reached out to Jay Cutler. That must be a smack to Keap' face.

I think a lot of times, what gets lost in the shuffle, is that Kaepernick absolutely had the right to express his opinion.

    But...

Ownership also absolutely has the right to choose who they employ.

With actions come consequences. There is too much moral outrage in this country and too little personal conviction and accountability. There are too many people that claim victim status regardless of what they did to put themselves in the situation they're in.

And that's not a political stance. That's the thoughts of a dad with hopes that his daughter's personal achievements make his look infinitely inferior in comparison.

I also feel what is being overlooked is that Kaepernick is just not a good quarterback. Just saying if he had Manning or Brady like capabilities the headaches that will undoubtedly come with Kaepernick would be acceptable. He is an average to above average quarterback so the headaches aren't worth it. I'd also take Cutler over Kaepernick and not think twice about it. Kaepernick is a gimmick QB imo and owners are just not willing to through the PR nightmare for a player that they believe will not lead their team to the Super Bowl. True he is good enough to be a backup but again who wants to go through the headaches that he will bring for a backup quarterback?

here's m take on colin kaepernik...1 word = karma. you wanna take a stance against police brutality and do it by kneeling during the singing of the national anthem, that's your right. however, you brought this shit storm on yourself and yourself alone. why would anyone hire you after what you did and what it spread too ? other athletes joining in, riots and fights breaking out.

you went about your political fight all wrong. if you're so against police brutality - go speak at a conference for people abused by cops. donate money to abused victims. donate your time and or money to families who lost a loved one to police violence. go speak to cops of all colors about why abuse happens. why are mistakes made during an arrest that leads to a shooting. that makes a difference and sends a positive message Colin...not kneeling vs our nation's anthem, which is more of a slap in the face to our nation than sending any kind of message against police brutality.

about his QB ability...Comcast Sportsnet Philly spoke about him this week and said yes, he's better than a lot of QBs out there bc many flat out stink. But who wants to hire him after what he did? Who wants to take that on as Tim mentioned?? He didn't just make a snide comment about this. He knelt for numerous games in "his" fight against what happened and police brutality and it sent the WRONG MESSAGE. The results are proof. People were pissed. Cops were pissed. Cops families were pissed. There's a right way and wrong way to go about things and he did things the wrong way but yet some fans think it's racist he's unemployed. One Philadelphia Eagle said this morning it was wrong and unfair Kap doesn't have a job. Look, that's his fight, not yours. Be happy you have a job in the NFL. Let Kap do his own fighting since he did this to himself.

    Again 1 word - KARMA!

And another thing people forget is Kaepernick opted out of his contract. No idea if he would've been released had he not opted out, but based on what was on the roster I think he might have had a better chance of having a job had he not done that. San Francisco seems like an ideal place to spout off his agenda. And I am definitely not a fan, but even I have to admit he has donated a lot of money to various charities. He might have a future spot as a backup in the league, but he might have to sit or take a knee this season. Maybe next year the heat will be off him and there won't be as much opposition to signing him.

Already reading speculation that he could be a cap casualty next year. Not sure how that's possible with their depth chart but there's not a lot of fat left on that deal. 17M base, only 4.6M of prorated bonus left to write off. Of course he'd likely have to be healthy before they do it.

That's an excellent point that has gotten lost in the shuffle. Kaep was due 14.5M.
