Original Scouting Report:
I mentioned it on the podcast 3 weeks ago and nothing has changed my mind – Le’Veon Bell is a top 16 talent in this draft class and should be a first round selection.
As we get closer to the draft both Jason and I are absolutely stumped by the different reasoning we see for Giovanni Bernard and Eddie Lacy being consistently ranked ahead of Le’Veon Bell. Neither player possesses the athleticism, patience or natural running ability that Le’Veon does. I believe Bell has better hands than Bernard and better tackle breaking ability than Lacy. These are the two main arguments I see from draftniks regarding the reason for ranking both of them ahead of Le’Veon.
For those that are having difficulty seeing how well Bell’s game will transfer to the pro level, just imagine Marshall Faulk as a heavier, stronger player and it’s a close evaluation to Le’Veon.
