Lamp stresses desire for versatility

From columnist Joe Schad - Lamp had a standout college career at left tackle but projects to guard in the NFL. Many scouts have compared Lamp’s skill set to Zack Martin of the Dallas Cowboys (16th overall, 2014). “Versatility adds value,” Lamp said. “They’ll only dress seven offensive lineman in the NFL. So if you can play all three positions, which is my goal eventually, you are really valuable to a team.”

We've seen the Zach Martin reference many times now and it's high praise. In my first mock this off-season, I have Lamp going to the Steelers in the bottom of the first because I believe his true value may be closer to the 25th spot in the draft. Versatility is one thing, but being able to play at a high level in both the center and guard positions makes Forrest a very intriguing prospect and definitely force his value up.
