Politely stated, McCown looked out of rhythm to start his career in New York.
Josh McCown completed 26-of-39 passes for 187 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. What stood out more than the awful stat line was his inability to complete passes that should have been receptions. His arm did not appear ‘lively’ and his temperament in the pocket was that of a player that wished he had retired this off-season. The Jets offense looked disgusting and improvement is not likely to come quickly as Bryce Petty will need to mend and take the starting job from McCown sooner rather than later.
Any Jets player will be a risky start in fantasy.
