Cat, that PI reporter makes sense. Do Philly fans want to string him up too just for telling the truth?

Dan-it's just like Andy Reid, Hextall is almost a Reid clone. Everything he says is the SAME THING as the year or trade deadline before. It's boring, dated and re-circled. It's like the old phrase "we'll get them next year." Hextall just repeats himself. It gets old quick and when Pittsburgh last year was near the Flyers in points on Jan 1, fires their coach and wins another Cup, people in Philly are pissed at how the teams were so close in points and a new coach mid-season brings them another Cup. Now Pittsburgh is a better team, but to see them make a gutsy move by getting Kessel is a move Hextall would never do and has failed to do!  That's what im trying to say. He says everything is protect mode and hasn't made a gutsy deal yet. Fans aren't happy. Tired of losing. Tired of paying top tix dollar for a mediocre team. Tired of seeing their Captain be lazy and slumping when he need him most-right now.

They have Streit's deal ending this year. They can amnesty Macdonald's and have a lot of money this summer for F/A. Fans wanna see changes. Christ, Hextall almost kept down Provorov another season in the WHL!

He's sitting on 3-4 goalies too. Can't use them all. How about a trade of one of two of them?

Again Dan, Hextall sounds like a broken record with his "well lets see what's out there and we won't make a move that hurts us" comments. Like Andy Reid used to pull out of his ass!

It's like playing poker with him and his cards are not close to the vest. They are in his pocket never to be seen! hahaha

The Ghost has the sophmore jinx . He will get better, no question. And it seems like most defensemen can't hit the net. Why is that? Their pro's and have been playing their whole life.......

Flyers officially sign German Rubtsov. Got out of his KHL deal and is now playing in the Q.

i like that. he's got a few more years till us Flyers fan see him. I hope he's as good as everyone says. After seeing Bellows in the World Juniors, who the Flyers could've taken, it will be hard to top Bellows.

Thanks, Cat. I think Ghost will be fine, but he may never exceed his rookie stats. He's a smart kid. I think he was beset by horrible luck. And, I think the coaches (F)!ed with his head.

I hope someone like Matty sees this because I really can't do much more than respond with hunches.

Re: Philadelphia Flyers

I've never played organized hockey at a high level, so my opinion probably doesn't count for much. But I see a risk that Philly is going to "coach" greatness outta Ghost.

I understand the need for discipline especially at the NHL level. Everyone is so good, that any miscue is going to get pounced on. I get that a team must adhere to a system otherwise there's no cohesion.

But, I think coaches sometimes undervalue spontaneity, or the ability of particularly gifted player to recognize when to break from the system and react to circumstances with creativity. That's going to throw the other team off, and becomes a great advantage.

In Ghost's rookie season it did not take long for everyone to know "holy shit, he's a goodun".  But his creativity made him too unpredictable to prevent damage.

If I were a Philly fan (and, ahem, I am not) then I'd be demanding answers for for why he's being ruined!?  If Ghost fails in Philly it will not be his fault, and he'll go to another team and be a great top-four D that can pot the puck and QB the PP. There will soon be 31 teams that will want that kind of player.
