Re: Recent card sales.....

I took the week off last week and am trying to sell some double auto's that I have. And it ain't easy.......I have a brother in Detroit and a younger son whose job was transferred to Chicago about 4 months ago and he decided to go. So when the National is in one of those cities, I'll have a place to stay and maybe some help setting up a table. Until then, I'll be listing on ebay. But not my prime stuff on ebay. I'll save some of that for the Nationals......

i tried to warn you igloo. people are not paying nearly close to top value for anything. they want it all ON THE CHEAP! plus the ebay and paypal fees, you lose almost $75-125 for any top item over $1000 in fees alone, so if you sell it for $1075, be prepaid for only get around $950-$975 for it. cards bought today and resold weeks later aren't even close to the same price. it's nuts.

i had some offers sent via email so insulting, i told them to stop contacting me. if i paid xxx, and selling for close to what i paid or a little lower, im not going to sell it for $500-700 lower than that ! or they wanna trade. no thanks.

I agree completely......I'm only going so low from what I paid or I'm not selling........

Re: Recent card sales.....

igloo-i wish i had the money to buy some of ur cards/auto/items bc it's a incredible collection and that is based off of emails and conversations only. i know there's more to it etc. i could blow a lot of money fast on your items. that's how rare and good it is! maybe 1 day, i can come to you with $5000 and go shopping at the igloo card store. haha.

Re: Recent card sales.....

market just stinks. cards going for less than paid and value price just months later. buyers crying "that's what it's worth?" no it's not. buyers don't determine value. it's not worth to buy even top cards say over $1000 bc if you sell them, people won't pay what you paid for them and cry cheap. terrible. so glad im done.

Re: Recent card sales.....

Tebow has a baseball card, and it's harder to find than a positive scouting report
Tebow is hitting .230/.319/.369 for the Mets' A-ball affiliate

You may have missed the fact that former Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow has taken up baseball. For the record, he's currently batting .230/.319/.369 for the New York Mets' A-ball affiliate amid rumors he could be nearing a promotion.

If Tebow's foray into baseball still doesn't feel real, then it might be time to come to terms with the whole thing. That's because Tebow now has a baseball card where he's decked out in his affiliate's uniform -- the baseball career equivalent of becoming "Facebook official." Take a look:

The catch is the "short-printed" descriptor that means the card's production will be limited. As Chris Cwik of Yahoo Sports wrote, consider that a smart marketing ploy on Topps' part:
Ad By 5-Hour Energy Upgrade to Extra Strength 5-hour ENERGY® If your energy drink isn’t cutting it, or you’re just ready for more, upgrade to Extra Strength.

Avid collectors and die-hard Tebow fans will probably spend a few extra bucks to pick up more packs in the hopes they can land one of his cards. The odds of getting this Tebow card is about one in 101 packs, according to Sporting News, so you'll need luck to be on your side.

Of course, the other effect here is that it'll boost Tebow's card's resale value. So, if you want an official Tebow card, be prepared to pony up one way or the other.

saw 1 auction for $500 and a live one at $245 and counting. Tebow is a fad and it shall pass!

the new fad now is if you have a vintage pack of cards - don't open it. they will grade the pack as it and encapsulate it with a grade. to me that's nuts. i wanna see what's in those packs! $1 mil in unreal for this stuff unopened! and it doesn't say who was in the 48 Bowman's either. I have a hard time believing it's worth $500,000 without seeing who is in there. If it's Jackie Robinson, Feller, Berra, Dimaggio, Williams etc then yes, but they better be pristine.
