Cleveland Browns – 2014 Mid-Season Recap

Cleveland Browns – 2014 Mid-Season Recap

Week 7 . . . Browns @ Jaguars

Just when you think things are going your way, you lay an egg. Not a regular egg mind you, a dinosaur egg. As well as the Browns played the prior week against the Steelers, that’s how bad they played against the previously winless Jaguars. The Browns couldn’t run the ball nor could they stop the Jaguars running game. Ben Tate, Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West combined for a measly 69 yards rushing. Dennard Robinson, a converted Michigan quarterback, single handedly almost doubled their production by rushing for 127 yards.

Brian Hoyer had his worse game as a professional. Although he threw for a net 197 yards he couldn’t put it into the end zone. Making matters worse, rookie Blake Bortles threw 3 interceptions (2 by Tashaun Gibson) but the Browns were unable to capitalize on them.Reality Check

The Browns were, once again, in an all too familiar position. Alone in last place of the AFC North.

I am a transplanted Connecticut Yankee. My family moved to Northern Ohio in the very early 1950's and plopped me right smack dab in the middle of the Otto Graham, Dante Lavelli, Marion Motley era Cleveland Browns and I have been a fan ever since. I'm also an avid history buff so the combination of the NFL and history seems to be a perfect match for me. I hope that I will be successful in sharing some of my research on the history of the NFL and hope you learn something new while reading my articles.
